An entrepreneur at heart, he owned and operated G Carlye Salon as well as a popular lunchtime eatery before devoting his full time attention to Millennium Center. Inspired by urban revivals in cities like Richmond, San Diego, and Fort Worth, Carlyle purchased the old post office in 1994 and transformed it into a premier event space.
